Lykos beach is a 35 minutes walk from Loutro. Here you will find the taverna Akrogiali. Akrogiali is run by the Manousoudakis family. This is the ideal place if you are looking for absolute tranquillity. Akrogiali offer accommodation in 8 rooms with a great view.  And you don't need to walk to get here. Take the ferry from Chora Sfakia to Loutro (15 minutes) and one of the family members will come and pick you up.

The people at this place are very hospitable. Pavlos, Kostas and Despina makes you feel very welcome. Akrogiali is a suberb starting place if you want to explore the Aradena Faragi. This is a gorge like the more famous Samaria, but you will hardly meet people at all. Aradena also have some astonishing passings before you reach the Marmara beach at the end. If you  want to explore Aradena in the opposite direction, don't miss the bakery "Orfanoudakis" in Anapoli. Their Sfakian Pie with honey is well worth an expedition.
